Santa Anita Park will host the Breeders' Cup World Championships in 2023 for a record-breaking 11th time, according to the Breeders' Cup, one of thoroughbred racing's most prestigious competitions.

It will be held over two days of championship racing at one of the world's most scenic racetracks, the Breeders' Cup will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2013. Participants, horses, and fans from all over the world will attend.

On Friday, the Breeders' Cup World Championships will be held Nov. 3, at 1/ST RACING's Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. They will feature 14 Grade 1 races with purses and awards totaling more than $31 million.

Breeders' Cup President and CEO Drew Fleming stated that Santa Anita Park is "integral to Breeders' Cup history" and "is the right destination for our momentous 40th running." The Breeders' Cup continues to be one of the top international Thoroughbred racing events since our founders came up with the idea for this season-ending championship four decades ago.

Santa Anita's stellar reputation and beautiful location give us the perfect setting to combine the best that racing, hospitality, and entertainment have to offer and grow our audience.

Craig Fravel, Chief Executive Officer of 1/ST RACING, remarked, "1/ST RACING is thrilled to welcome back the Breeders' Cup to Santa Anita Park for the historic 40th running of these amazing World Championships."

As California's top racing site dedicated to providing the best background for world-class racing, entertainment, and hospitality, 1/ST RACING is looking forward to exhibiting Santa Anita Park for a record 11th time and taking part in the exciting atmosphere that surrounds the Breeders' Cup.

Based on a 2017 study, the Breeders' Cup estimates that the 2023 World Championships will have a nearly $100 million economic impact on Southern California. Fans and visitors from all over the world are anticipated to attend races and support nearby hotels, restaurants, and other entertainment venues, given that the World Championships are taking place for the 40th time and have Santa Anita as its picturesque backdrop. Over the years, Santa Anita has regularly set the bar for attendance and wagering at the Breeders' Cup World Championships.

With 118,484 spectators, the 2016 World Championships at Santa Anita holds the event's all-time attendance record. In 2019, Santa Anita hosted the World Championships for the final time, and a new wagering record of more than $175 million was achieved.

According to Kathryn Schlossman, President & CEO of the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission, "We are thrilled to welcome the Breeders' Cup back to Santa Anita Park for a record 11th time next November." The entire Los Angeles area will benefit significantly economically from this flagship event, which will again provide attendees with an unforgettable experience.

The 39th Breeders' Cup World Championships, which will take place at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky, on November 4 and 5, 2022, will be broadcast live. There are still a few tickets left.
