Having added seven gold medals to the collection on a penultimate day, Australia added one more gold medal on the final day of the Commonwealth Games, arriving in style.
It has been a tremendously successful Game for the Australians as they reached the 1000 gold medal milestone and are 11 golds ahead of host nation England in the tally.
After winning gold in beach volleyball, cricket, diving (twice), road cycling and javelin, netball's superstar Diamonds team achieved an incredible milestone by beating Jamaica 55-51 in the women's netball final.

The Kookaburras are once again gold medalists at the Commonwealth Games, defeating India 7-0 to keep their absurd run at the event alive.
In a match that seemed to end well before halftime, Australia held India scoreless while giving the Indians any chance to score in one of the most dominant final performances in Games history.
It means the Aussies haven't lost at the Commonwealth Games since 1998, claiming gold for the seventh time in seven attempts.
The victory raised Australia's gold tally in Birmingham to an astonishing 67 and the number 1,001 in history.
Australia's first medal event
Australia's first medal event was the 3m Springboard Synchronized Mixed Final. in diving, with li shixin teaming up with Maddison keney and Domonic Bedggood Paired with Annabelle Smith.
Keeney and Li took silver with a score of 304.02, less than two points from gold.
