Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson
The Rams have youngster Kyren Williams listed as their backup running back, with Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson listed as co-starters. How the club will utilize its running backs is the question.
Akers merely anticipates "a bunch of touchdowns," that is all
None of the three were listed on the injury report this week. Williams missed some time at the start of camp with a foot injury, and Akers and Henderson recently missed two weeks with what Sean McVay called "soft-tissue problems."
Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register
According to Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register, Akers stated, "I know I'm healthy." "The others will just get to watch" (Thursday). I will not prove to anyone that I'm in good health. I'll just engage in my normal game.
2021 postseason
After injuring his Achilles, Akers missed most of the previous season. He returned in time for the team's final regular-season game and four postseason contests.
He gained 172 yards on the ground and 76 yards on eight receptions during the 2021 postseason. He did not appear as he had in 2020.
Coach Sean McVay stated
The Rams will have a nice problem with three solid choices at the position because he anticipates returning to his 2020 form.
Rams head coach Sean McVay stated, "As far as how the games unfold, you guys know. "We have plans, but we never restrict ourselves to a single strategy. However, the Rams are doing well when both men are involved.
