Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones
Dak Prescott may surprise people with how soon he recovers from the injury to his throwing hand, according to Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones.
Prescott may only miss one more game before returning to action against the Commanders in Week Four, according to Jones, who noted on 105.3 The Fan that it is still too early to predict when Prescott will be able to play again.
Jones remarked, "I don't know that anybody knows [when he'll be returning]. "However, when he [gains sufficient power in his hand], you'll undoubtedly notice some significant progress in his timetable. I'm not sure about the time. I am aware that after last week's thorough airing, everyone is aware that, in terms of the chronology, he will return sooner rather than later. In my opinion, it might be at least two weeks up here [Washington in Week 4]. That is a lot too hopeful. But he's made the kind of repair there that will let him live without having to worry about hurting it again. The grip is all that matters. It's a large question, though.
The Cowboys' good news is that their backup Cooper Rush performed admirably in Prescott's absence on Sunday, increasing their confidence that they can succeed without Prescott. But if it turns out that Prescott won't need to be sidelined for very long, that would be even better news.
