In the complete countdown to the Qatar 2022 World Cup, FIFA seems to have almost resolved that the start of the most important event in the world of football will be changed.
Gianni Infantino will announce the change in the World Cup calendar in the coming days.
The original plan stipulated that the contest would begin on Monday, November 21, with the confrontation between Senegal and the Netherlands, corresponding to Group A and to be played at 7 in the morning (Argentina time).
The calendar marked that on that same day, at 10, England vs Iran (Group B) and, later, in the third turn, the opening ceremony would take place, with the duel between Qatar and Ecuador (from 13).
It was always thought that the host country could have a whole day for the opening of the World Cup; however, a few years ago, starting the tournament on a Sunday was ruled out when a shorter schedule of 28 days was agreed upon after discussions with influential leagues.
In Europe, the teams from the Old Continent will play club matches until November 13.
