Friday night's game between the Panthers and the Bills will tip off with Baker Mayfield at quarterback, but he won't have all of the offensive starters on the field with him.
Robbie Anderson
Robbie Anderson, a wide receiver, and McCaffrey, a running back, will both be absent. Although Anderson missed last week's game due to a quad injury, he played five snaps in the first preseason game. Since McCaffrey did not participate in any preseason games, it is likely that there was not much consideration given to having him play.
Andre Roberts and Brandon Zylstra
Additionally, Andre Roberts and Brandon Zylstra, tight end Ian Thomas and Colin Thompson, running back Spencer Brown, and center Bradley Bozeman were also listed as inactive by Carolina.
Shaq Thompson
The players who will not play defense include linebacker Shaq Thompson, at the top of the list. Along with them will be linebacker Julian Stanford, safety Sam Franklin Jr., linebacker Isaiah Graham-Mobley, and defensive end Amare Barno.
