Tom Garfinkel, the team president and CEO released a statement saying, "It is with deep sadness that I relay the news that Jason Jenkins, Dolphins SVP of Communications and Community Affairs, has gone away." "The death of a man who was a good friend to many people has devastated our hearts, and we are grieving his passing. For 14 years, Jason devotedly served the Dolphin's organization. He also served as a community leader, a pioneer, and a champion for others. But most importantly, Jason treated people with respect and dignity, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. Our thoughts are with his wife, Elizabeth, and his three children, as well as with them.

He represented the company in its outreach initiatives and acted as the confidant of owner Stephen Ross.
