    It's the most significant bid for Chelsea founder Roman Abramovich. On March 2, Abramovich sold the club. Ratcliffe, 69, purchased the French club Nice in 2019. On Friday, British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe revealed that his business Ineos had made a final $ 4.25 billion ($ 5.3 billion) bid for Premier League club Chelsea.


    Roman Abramovich, the owner of the Blues, sold the club on March 2 before the UK government implemented sanctions following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Chelsea, I expect the deal to close soon, with Abramovich's program hosted by New York bank Rane Group. According to Reuters, it's the highest bid notice till now. 


    Contract extension Ratcliffe is the founder and proprietor of Ineos, a multinational chemical retailer that supports Team Ineos for British cycling. The 69-year-old had agreed with Chelsea in 2019 but changed his mind and purchased Nice in France. The British team won the bid. Ineos claimed in a statement that the request came from a British club.

Three groups are interested in buying the Champions League champions for 2021.: Los Angeles Dodgers owner Todd Boy, former Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton, and Boston Celtics owner Steve Pagliuca.
