In two short seasons, Justin Herbert has become one of the great quarterbacks in the league.

In the Pro Bowl, he was the beginner of AFC in his second season and has reached around 9,350 yards and 69 touchdowns in two seasons.

But what the quarterback didn't do is take the Chargers into the postseason.

The Chargers ended 7-9 and in the third area in the AFC West in 2020 and were 9-8 and in 2021 in the third area. Last season finished to the Raiders in a 35-32 loss in a victory-or-move to home in Week 18.

Justin Herbert discussed with Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports when he was questioned about criticism of him outside the organization for not creating the postseason "For me, one of the best things is that I don't waste a lot of time on social media platforms, so I don't get to look all that thing." "All the time, this is a matter of being better, and we were not victorious in the playoff games in the last two years. That is, of course, a difficult challenge, but I firmly believe in the coaching staff and our team.

"It depends on us to play football and keep participating. You can't get too troubled about all these consequences at the end of the day because you can't have control over them. All you can do is to show every kind of effort and whatever happens, happens."

The Chargers enhanced their roster this offseason, trading for Khalil Mack and contracting J.C Jackson among their movements. But the Broncos and Raiders also received better, and the Chiefs are still having Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid.

That creates winning the division more demanding than it has been in the past two seasons, but Justin Herbert welcomes that challenge.

Justin Herbert said of the division, "It is difficult, but I think it is the best chance for us to go and perform the best." "The Raiders have received more significance; the Chiefs have received better, and the Denver Broncos have received better — and that is absolutely what you require. We firmly believe that we can play really great football, and it depends on us to go out and implement.

"If you want to be the greatest at the end of the day, you have to defeat the best. Those people have definitely proved that over the past couple of years. It would absolutely be going a fun division to be a part of."
