LIV Golf on Wednesday provided an overview of its plans for 2023, which will include a 14-tournament schedule, 12 established team franchises, and a relegation tournament at the end of the season, before the circuit's third event at Trump Bedminster.

According to LIV, events will be held throughout Asia, Australia, the Middle East, North and Latin America, Europe, and the United Kingdom. However, the actual tournament calendar won't be made public later. Every LIV Golf League player is required to compete at every stop, where there is a $405 million total prize pool.

The goal is that "the finest players in the game will always be allowed to make their own decisions about where to participate," according to LIV, who stated in a release that the calendar would not conflict with either the majors or "legacy" events. Any member who participated in a LIV event has been suspended indefinitely by PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan.

The LIV Golf League will have the same 48 participants in 2019 as opposed to the model it used in 2018 when each stop included new players. Jason Kokrak, Charles Howell III, Paul Casey, and Henrik Stenson are all making their LIV debuts this week. Greg Norman, CEO of LIV, reportedly informed Australian Golf Digest that the 2023 lineup was "fixed," The lineup for 2023 is "fixed," according to LIV CEO Greg Norman, who recently told Australian Golf Digest that more player announcements are anticipated over the summer and fall.

Every club franchise will have a captain starting the following season who can "develop their franchises as they see fit in an endeavor to gain the best fan following and sponsor interest." When discussing LIV and joining his squad on Wednesday in New Jersey, Bryson DeChambeau phoned Howell, according to Howell; according to Kokrak, Brooks Koepka made a comparable pitch.

LIV players are anticipated to compete in "many" International Series tournaments on the Asian Tour in addition to the league schedule, which could present a way for LIV members to earn world-ranking points. (The Official World Golf Ranking board is reviewing LIV's application.) Each LIV member is expected to fall out of the top 50 by the end of the year without gaining more world ranking points, jeopardizing their chances of competing in the 2023 majors.

Many players spoke about how LIV's condensed schedule appealed to them in their opening news conferences.

At The Open, Casey revealed that LIV members had discussed showing up "en masse" at Asian Tour events to strengthen the competition's field. So they all travel together if they're going to participate in an Asian Tour event, he explained.

LIV Golf announced that it would host 25 international tournaments next year, including League events and International Series competitions. There will also be a "Promotions" event at the end of the season when players will have the chance to sign up for the league the following year; the number of openings was not made clear. A crucial requirement for potential OWGR inclusion, the International Series will also offer options for promotion and relegation.

This week's LIV tournament at Bedminster, owned by former president Donald Trump, will have a field of 48 players, 54 holes, and a $25 million prize pool.
