The Pat Bowlen Trust sold the Broncos to the Walton-Penner ownership group, led by Rob Walton, his daughter Carrie Walton Penner, and Carrie's husband, Greg Penner. As a result, the Broncos are going through a change.

Before moving to Denver in 1998 to oversee the switch from the previous Mile High Stadium to Invesco Field at Mile High, Freeman worked for the Steelers. Before joining the Broncos in 2001, he served as Mile High Stadium's general manager.
