One wide receiver's health was confirmed at the start of practice on Friday at the Buccaneers' training facility, while another pass catcher's workout went otherwise.
Reporters on the scene noted that Mike Evans departed practice early because of what seemed to be a leg injury. Todd Bowles, the head coach of the Buccaneers, indicated during practice that Evans could have strained his hamstring and that he should be checked on in the locker room.
Last season, Evans fought with hamstring issues, but he only missed one game. The team will likely reduce his workload if he has another one to prepare him for the regular season.
Chris Godwin participated in practice for the first time since tearing his ACL late in the previous season on the same day as Evans' injury occurred. As the Buccaneers wait for updates on Evans' status, Bowles stated that the organization is pleased to see Godwin making progress and that he will continue to work his way back to full fitness.
