USA's strongest opponent in 2008
Netflix did a great job if the purpose of a trailer is to make you want to watch the movie. I'm in.
The Redeem Team documentary on the 2008 Olympics has a new teaser on Netflix, and it includes some classic Kobe Bryant. Just to refresh your memory, the USA's strongest opponent in 2008 would be a strong Spanish team that included Marc Gasol, Ricky Rubio, José Calderón, Rudy Fernández, Juan Carlos Navarro, and more. This team was captained by a peak, Pau Gasol. The USA would play this squad first in group play, and it was a team that was actually quite dangerous.
Kobe wanted to make a statement, so he ran past his pal Gasol to do so. (Caution: The video clip below contains language that is NSFW.) "On the first play of the game, I ran over Pau Gasol. Then we asked, "What?" First play of the game, I know what they're going to run, he declared. He declared, "I'm rushing through him," knowing that Pau would be the final screen. said, Dwayne Wade
The USA destroyed Spain
Spoiler alert: In the group stage play, the USA destroyed Spain. It was much harder for the Americans to defeat the Spaniards in the Gold Medal game, as Kobe needed a strong fourth quarter and Chris Paul gave a masterclass in game management to keep the tempo and flow under control.
The documentary, which debuts on Netflix on October 7, has my full support.
