For the first four weeks of the season, the Commanders won't have defensive end Chase Young or running back Brian Robinson in the starting lineup. However, a return to the lineup for both players is beginning to take form.
After Robinson was shot twice on August 28, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the team is "encouraged" by his development. Robinson was shot this week and sustained knee and gluteal injuries, but he is now off crutches and is anticipated to exercise on grass for the first time since the incident.
Because of these developments, there is a reasonable probability that Robinson will play against the Titans in Week 5. However, it appears that Young will require a bit more time.
ACL sustained in the previous season
According to the source, Young is recovering from a ruptured ACL sustained in the previous season on a "significantly slower timeframe" than the rookie running back. The team is hopeful that he will be able to participate before the season's halfway point, and Dr. James Andrews will soon assess his knee.
