Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas
Neither one nor the other have the media weight that some of their colleagues with lesser titles can boast. Still, it is very likely that as of this Saturday, July 9, the winner of the duel between Mark Magsayo (24-0-0, 16 KO's) and Rey Vargas (35-0-0, 22 KO's) will acquire another type of status more in keeping with what both have achieved in the ring in their respective careers.
Both will star on a billboard at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, and at stake will be the World Boxing Council (WBC) featherweight world champion belt belonging to the Filipino Magsayo, who, due to his speed, forcefulness and having in his corner As a coach Freddie Roach has been compared to his compatriot and legendary multi-champion Manny Pacquiao.
Mexican Vargas

Mexican Julio Ceja

Although Magsayo knocked him out in spectacular fashion in the tenth round, he trailed on all three judges' scorecards (83-86, 82-87, and 83). -86) and had kissed the canvas in the fifth round.
