If the Lord Stanley's Cup is won by Colorado
Avalanche, they will be connected by the Broncos with three
championships.
The
last championship team of the city was the Broncos, winning Super Bowl 50 in
2015.
Russell Wilson now has
expectations that he is in a city he feels is a city of champions.
Russell
Wilson discussed in a video with Zack Stevens of DNVR Sports at his football
camp on Friday: "It's been a privilege to be here, to receive a visit of a
wonderful city like Denver, to be a part of it with plenty of supportive
teammates and an excellent coaching staff. "But even then, once the trade
began again, I said, 'Hey, listen, I want to make sure that I visit a city that
wants to take the win. I want to ensure that I go to a team that wants to be
victorious. And I want to visit a city that knows well how to achieve victory.
In Denver, all these three things were checked out of the box here, and so I
think we got an opportunity."
Russell
Wilson led the Seahawks to the consecutive Super Bowls in 2013 and 2014, but
Seattle has since trailed with Russell Wilson only 3-5 in the post-season. That
was the part of his annoyance with the organization and forced the Seahawks
during this off-season to trade him to Denver.
