     The Tampa Bay Bandits defeated the Houston Gamblers 13-3 to maintain their playoff aspirations.

    Tampa Bay is still vying for the final playoff spot in the USFL.


    After a lacklustre showing, Tampa Bay  led 13-0 at intermission and only allowed the Gamblers to accomplish one field goal the rest of the way. In last week's 20-13 loss to New Jersey, QB Jordan converted 12 of 21 passes over 98 yards, including the game's only touchdown throw to Derrick Dillon.


    Tyler Rausa, the Bandits' kicker, made two or three goals. After a 35-24 loss to the Philadelphia Stars a few days earlier, the Houston Gamblers  were eliminated from the playoffs. Clayton Thorson is still sidelined with an elbow injury, but Kenji Bahar began as quarterback for the Gamblers.


     Bahar struggled and only managed to complete 19 of his 34 attempts. They'll tackle the Birmingham Wild horses and the New Orleans Breakers to round off their season.


    Completing the 10-week regular season, the top two clubs in each division will progress to the playoffs. The championship games will be held in Canton, Ohio, on Saturday, June 25.Reaction and coverage of the Houston Gamblers vs Tampa Bay Bandits game.

    7:00 p.m.  EST: Bahar maintains possession of the ball for an 18-yard gain, moving the Gamblers inside the 20-yard line. Houston is behind ten points with 0:38 left in the game.

    Houston has the ball at 6:20 p.m. EST after the Gamblers' defence recovers a fumble. With 10:20 left in the game, Houston will be on their 49-yard line with a 10-point deficit.

    6:08 p.m. EST: A third inning ends with Tampa Bay leading by ten points.


    To begin the fourth quarter, Houston will face a third-and-16 situation on their 43-yard line.


    Tampa Bay is held to a fumble recovery at 6:02 p.m. EST by the Gambler's defense. With 2:05 left in the third quarter, the match is already a 10-point game. Houston retrieves their extra point at 5:48 p.m. EST. Through their 40-yard line, the Gamblers will hold possession.

     EST on a 44-yard field goal by Nick Vogel. With 10:17 remaining in the third, the Bandits lead the Gamblers 13-3.

    5:36 p.m. EST: The second half is ready to begin from Birmingham!


    The very first quarter comes to an end at 5:24 p.m. EST. The Buccaneers are up 13-0.


    Tampa Bay's interception resulted in Tyler Rausa's 33-yard kickoff return at 5:10 p.m. EST. With 1:28 left till halftime, the kick is good, and the Thugs are up 13-0.


    Touchdown Bandits at 4:53 p.m. EST! Jordan Ta'amu throws a 7-yard touchdown pass to Derrick Dillon.


    With 4:46 left in half, Tyler Rausa's extra point try is good, and Tampa Bay increases their lead to 10-0.

    Houston goes for something on fourth-and-1 at 4:41 p.m. EST. Tampa Bay will retake around their 41-yard range after the Bandit's defense limits them to no gain and a turnover on downs.


    Tyler Rausa's 36-yard conversion attempt is helpful to keep Tampa Bay just on the scoreboard first at 4:35 p.m. EST.


     Although the first quarter draws close, the Gamblers' defense moves the Bandits backwards from Houston 5 to a 19. From Birmingham, we're 0-0. With 5:15 left in the first quarter, Nick Vogel's 55-yard field goal attempt is no good, and the score remains 0-0.


    EST: 4:02 p.m. From Legion Field, we're about to kick off our final Week 8 clash!
