During his rookie season, 49ers quarterback Trey Lance occasionally appeared overwhelmed, but that didn't deter the team from pressing forward with plans to make him the starter this year.
Lance is still on track to lead the offence, and Kyle Shanahan, the head coach, and several of his teammates have praised the preparation work he's been doing.
On Friday, Lance stated that his comfort level on the field has also risen and that he feels "much more comfortable among the club than he did as a rookie.
