    Commonwealth Games


    The Commonwealth Games will end today after nearly two weeks of action in Birmingham.

    Australia is currently at the top of the medal table, with England in second place and Canada rounding out the top three.


    Scotland is in fifth place, just behind India, followed by Nigeria, Wales, South Africa and Northern Ireland.

    More than 5,000 athletes from 72 countries competed in 19 different sports, and the final medals were handed out on Monday.

    The closing ceremony will pass the baton to the following hosts: Victoria in Australia.


    2022 Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony


    The 2022 Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony will occur at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium.

    Soul singer Beverley Knight, veteran reggae band UB40 and drum and bass artist Goldie are among the West Midlands performers who will entertain crowds at Alexander Stadium.


    R&B star Jorja Smith, Coventry


    Local acts such as R&B star Jorja Smith, Coventry-born artist and producer Panjabi MC and Musical Youth are best remembered for their 1982.


    In tribute to one of Birmingham's leading television exports, the event will feature a sequence of the highly anticipated stage show. Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby. The production, adapted by series creator Steven Knight, will have its world premiere in Birmingham.
