Western Bulldogs and St Kilda
It's the crucial moment for the Western Bulldogs and St Kilda as they open Round 18 at Marvel Stadium on Friday night.
The 10th-place Bulldogs and 9th-place Saints need a win to keep their Finals hopes alive.
Fremantle is hosting Sydney at Optus Stadium.
On Saturday night, Carlton and Geelong battle it out at the MCG, followed by Fremantle hosting Sydney at Optus Stadium.
All four clubs are inside the top eight heading into this weekend.
The Western Bulldogs have one last chance to prove they are contenders for the final when they host St Kilda indoors.
The Dogs have disastrously lost their last two games by a combined 94 points and now sit essentially two games out of the top eight, given Richmond's easy run.
Sydney and Collingwood
The last month has been far from what I would expect from a finals contender, and over the 2022 season, far from what I would expect from a presidential contender.
The only top eight teams they have beaten this year are Sydney and Collingwood, and if they want to keep the underdog final on, they have to win on Friday night.
It's a similar story for St Kilda, who are level with the Tigers on points but have the lowest percentage of the top 12 teams.
Their recent form has also left much desired, registering a win in their last five games.
Aaron Naughton
Both sides' defence has been poor in the last four weeks, and whoever can have the six most improved defenders should win this clash.
A lot depends on the selection for this clash. If Aaron Naughton can't get over a knee injury and Josh Bruce spends another week in the VFL, the mantle tips entirely in the Saints' favour, even with the return of Bailey Smith.
