The delay in the fans' entrance to the stadium has caused the game to start a quarter of an hour later.
The UEFA Champions League champion will have to wait. At least 30 more minutes, because UEFA has delayed the start of the match that Liverpool and Real Madrid play at the Stade de France vs. by half an hour.
The reason? The delay in the entry of fans to the stadium, as announced on the video scoreboards.
With just a few minutes left before the final between Liverpool and Real Madrid began, there were still many fans outside the stadium, which has caused UEFA to decide to delay the start of the match for thirty minutes, more specifically, 36 minutes, since you have set the start time to 21:36.
After the match, UEFA has issued a statement explaining the reason for the delay:
UEFA statement on the problems related to the delayed start of the UEFA Champions League final
In the run-up to the game, thousands of fans blocked the turnstiles at the Liverpool end who had bought fake tickets that did not work at the turnstiles.
This created a backlog of fans trying to get in. As a result, the start was delayed 35 minutes to allow access to as many fans as possible with genuine tickets.
As the number outside the stadium grew after kick-off, the police dispersed them with tear gas and forced them to leave the stadium.
UEFA stands in solidarity with those affected by these events and will urgently review these matters with the French POLICE and authorities and with the French Football Federation.
