Any hopes rugby league fans had of Roger Tuivasa Sheck making a stunning return to code have been shot down by the former NRL star.
Tuivasa-Sheck, who defected to the rugby union to play Super Rugby for the Blues and represent New Zealand All Blacks, was said to have an NRL contract unveiled this week.
However, amid "whispers" of a bid from the Sydney Roosters to lure the 2018 Dally M winner, Tuivasa-Sheck took it upon herself to clear the air.
"Hello team, I hear a return to NRL and Sydney Roosters," he wrote on Instagram above a picture of himself sporting an Auckland Provincial National Championship jersey.
Rumors of a bid were sparked by former All Blacks great Sir John Kirwin, who spoke on The Breakdown, which is available to watch on Stan Sport.
"A little whisper is that there is a contract on the table for Roger Tuivasa-Sheck on the Roosters," Kirwin said the northern tour; he probably shouldn't play Japan.
"It's a timing thing. I mean, I hope he doesn't return to the Roosters.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has two All Blacks starters to his name.
Despite his relative inexperience playing rugby, 'RTS' was quickly added to the All Blacks roster. However, he has had little playing time.
Tuivasa-Sheck has only had two test matches off the bench, and his place in the squad remains unclear.
Not helping their cause is Jordie Barrett's recent form at the center and Anton Lienert-Brown's imminent return from a shoulder injury.
On top of that, David Havili has played center back for much of the Rugby Championship, effectively making Tuivasa-Sheck fourth choice.
An apparent desire to play in next year's Rugby World Cup has some wondering if he should move on to another position.
Tuivasa-Sheck won the NRL Premier League in 2013 with the Roosters at full-back but moved up to full-back as captain of the Warriors.
The 29-year-old is only the fourth player representing the New Zealand national teams in rugby league and rugby union.
